Get started with Add-On Site AI
Paste a key, open the playground (or any site), one click enables + opens the assistant — then save a remake as a rule.
Best first win: open the website Playground, then Enable on this page & open assistant.
Pin the extension (optional but recommended)
In Chrome, click the puzzle piece (Extensions) in the toolbar.
Find Add-On Site AI and click the pin icon so it stays visible.
You will use the extension icon often: enable sites, open Settings, and open the assistant.
Create an account on the website
Open the Add-On Site AI website and sign up or log in (magic link by email).
After login you land on Extension Keys (Settings) — that is intentional.
Create & copy your Extension Key
On Settings → Extension Keys, enter a key name (e.g. “Home Chrome”) and click Create Extension Key.
Copy the key immediately — it is shown only once. You can create multiple keys (one per device); revoking one only disables that device.
Paste the key into this extension
Click the extension icon → Settings, or open the full Options page (button below).
Paste the key → Save. You should see a verified / connected status.
Also set Backend URL if you are not using the default server.
Open the Playground and click once
Open a website — prefer starting on the Playground page from the website so the demo UI is predictable (or any normal site — not chrome:// pages).
Click the extension icon, then Enable on this page & open assistant. That allows the site and opens the panel in one step.
The toggle and Allowed websites list are still there if you want to manage sites without opening the assistant.
Pick a remake chip, send, then keep it
The welcome card offers page-aware starting prompts. Click a chip to fill the box, then hit Send.
Most edits finish in under a minute; complex ones can take longer. Successful edits can save as rules and auto-apply after refresh — that’s the product, not a one-shot chat.

You’re ready when…
- You can open website Settings without being forced to re-login just to create a key
- The extension shows the key as saved / verified
- The popup primary button says “Open assistant” (site already allowed) or “Enable on this page & open assistant”
- The floating AI button appears on the page after you enable it
